Dana and Jane Abendschein

Dana and Jane have been clowning together for 15 years. Dana is the Conference Coordinator and Jane is the Program Coordinator for the Show Me Clowns for Jesus National Conference. Dana is a Professor of Medicine, Cell Biology and Physiology at Washington University School of Medicine where he teaches classes on the heart. Jane works full-time as the ‘boss’ clown of the Clown Docs that entertain at both St. Louis Children’s and Barnes-Jewish Hospitals.

 

CLASSES

These will be taught as the Hospital & Nursing Home Track

Character and Makeup Development for Caring Clowns... Learn some special considerations for developing a close-up clown character, face and costume for use in the hospital or nursing home, and how to put your whole body into your character.

Hospital Clowning... Learn the physical benefits of humor on the body, how to start and maintain a hospital clown program, some do’s and don’ts for working in the hospital setting, and some antics to do at the bedside.

Props and Bits for Caring Clowns... Ideas for site gags, medical humor and routines that have been developed for and tested on sick people and hospital staff.  They laughed and you will too!
